Why we celebrate education?
The March For Education Foundation understands the challenges of students that enter the educational system with the goals of achieving the American dream through higher learning. Our way of supporting those ideals is planning fun-filled experiences for everyone involved in creating a foundation in learning in a form of annual celebrations reinforcing the positivity of higher learning and those who take it seriously. The odds are against students graduating With very high college tuition, lack of funding for public schools, inadequate teaching facilities, social challenges and those who discourage educational values at every angle, our youth have now devalued the ideals of success through education and have found other means of obtaining financial and personal goals. But they do not understand how powerful a healthy educational background benefits in the political arena. Why a parade for students, educators and parents? Think about the many parades geared toward a cause or mission we love, then think about how many are celebrating those who spend tireless hours insuring they prepare our children’s scholastic plans, insure our children are sent off to school prepared and those who work to insure a safe system for our children to get the knowledge needed to survive in the marketplace. 80% of the populations we serve are single parents with children who are struggling with the idea of sending their child off to school without the necessary supplies or support needed for them to continue their goals in a healthy manner. we are here to give relief to many of those families. What is the festival design to do? Our goal is to bring public officials, school faculty, business entities, community leaders, parents, and the great students of Connecticut together in a forum where the theme is educational excellence in our communities. With the guest speakers share topics of educational values and community leaders show their public concern for the atmosphere of youth receiving the best care while attending schools, we share community resources/ that are in our communities that assist families with needs of products or services that are offered. Who do we serve? While we invite the entire population of concerned people who understand the key to success through education to join in our mission motivate enjoying the benefits of knowledge through books, we focus on students from Middle-school to College. How do we serve?
